Smart Electric Toothbrush Bass Technique Brushing

The Bass Method, also known as the Bass Brushing Technique or the Horizontal Vibration Technique, is currently recognized by the World Health Organization as the most effective method for removing plaque near the gum line and within the gingival sulcus. The specific method and steps are as follows:

The C1 electric toothbrush from Aiwejay features a posture reminder mode to help users develop the correct Bass brushing technique.

To master the proper Bass brushing technique, a smart electric toothbrush is essential.

When brushing technique is incorrect, the toothbrush’s indicator light will flash alternately red and blue, and the toothbrush handle will vibrate and emit a “beep-beep-beep” sound to remind the child to correct their brushing technique promptly. To help children develop the proper Bass brushing technique, this toothbrush is a must-have.Smart Electric Toothbrush

1. Hold the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the tooth surface, with the bristles pointing toward the gums.

Position the toothbrush at the junction of the teeth and gums. Hold the bristles at a 45° angle to the teeth, and gently press them against the teeth so that the bristles form a slight arc, ensuring that the side of the toothbrush makes substantial contact with the teeth. This is the starting position for the Bass brushing technique, and it is the most important factor in ensuring that you can effectively clean both the gums and the gingival sulcus (the narrow “groove” between the gums and teeth) while brushing.

2. Gently shake horizontally and brush.

Gently vibrate the toothbrush bristles horizontally across the surface of your teeth to remove plaque near the gum line. Generally, the range of vibration should not exceed two teeth, and you should perform this back-and-forth vibrating motion about 10 times. You can also replace the small horizontal vibrations with small circular motions, which is another recommended modified brushing technique.

It is important to note that the Bass brushing technique uses small, horizontal vibrating motions rather than large, “sawing” motions. Incorrect “sawing” horizontal brushing can lead to abrasion and loss of tooth structure at the neck of the tooth, ultimately resulting in tooth sensitivity and even wedge-shaped defects.

3. Brush every surface of your teeth.

We can brush all surfaces of every tooth in the mouth thoroughly in a specific order. Note: This refers to all surfaces—not just the outer and inner surfaces, but also the chewing surfaces, which should be brushed carefully using either circular motions or back-and-forth strokes.

4. After brushing your teeth, gently brush your tongue. A thick coating on the tongue often causes bad breath; simply brush it off gently and rinse your mouth with water.

So, are there any special precautions to keep in mind when using the Bass brushing technique? Be sure to remember the following two points:

First, make sure not to miss a single tooth or tooth surface.

Second, you need to spend a certain amount of time brushing your teeth.

Afterword: As technology advances, it brings people a better quality of life. To master the Bass brushing technique, a smart electric toothbrush is essential.
